Day-Trip to Philadelphia

For this trip we will leave from the HUB building promptly at 7:30 AM , arrive in Philadelphia at 11:30 AM , leave Philadelphia at 5:00 PM , stop for supper en route home, and arrive back in State College at 9:30 PM . The transportation cost will be $45. In addition, you will pay your own admission fees, as listed below, for those activities you plan to visit, as well as buying or bringing food for lunch and dinner. (We will stop briefly at 9:30 on the way there, and we will also stop briefly to eat at 7:00 pm on the way back. This will give you more time for sightseeing; also, it can be hard to find a convenient eating place in the downtown.)

During our time in Philadelphia , you will probably have time to visit one or two of the following places (your choice):

(1) Philadelphia Museum of Art ($15-20 admission);

(2) Franklin Institute Science Museum ($15-20 admission);

(3) Independence National Historical Park sites (all free), including the Liberty Bell, Congress Hall and Independence Hall, and much more; or

(4) Philadelphia Zoo ($15 admission)

(5) Chinatown

I will provide transportation between the five sites, or you can walk from one to another or use city busses if you choose to do so. I will also provide a map of the downtown area for you.

To register, complete the trip registration form below and return it to me with your payment. This trip will be limited to the first 28 people who register by paying the $45 transportation cost. (Make checks payable to "Bill Saxton". If I am not in my office when you come, you can slide a check or envelope with cash under my office door and I will send you a receipt confirming I received it and that you are registered for the trip.)
