Jubilee Conference 2008: “RE-IMAGINE”!
Saturday,
Feb. 16, 2008
(information for PSU international students)
Imagine a world where everything matters to God. Imagine a world
where your life would have a lasting impact. Imagine a world where Jesus
shapes life. Imagine a world where Jesus is King.
The annual JUBILEE Conference in
Pittsburgh
is a wonderful experience of imagining the
kingdom
of
God
. Jubilee will inspire you to see the world as Jesus sees it; it will
connect you with amazing people, and it will give you a powerful vision of
your place in God’s story. It's a great opportunity to spend a day
thinking about life and where and how we fit into the world. It's also a
good time of fellowship, and a special experience to be there with 1500
other college students in the Hilton Hotel ballroom. Please plan your
schedule so you can attend! ICF can provide a scholarship to pay
$75 of the $95 one-day conference fee! You only pay $20, plus
the cost of "fast food" lunch and dinner. We will cover the
transportation costs. Here is some more information:
The JUBILEE Conference will be held at the
Westin
Convention Center
in
Pittsburgh
on Feb. 15-17. Our PSU international group will just attend the conference
for the day on Saturday, Feb. 16.
We will leave State College at
7 AM
(I will pick you up wherever you live in
State College
), and return by
midnight
. During the afternoon “Breakout Sessions” you can choose between
a variety of speakers and topics (see the www.jibileeconference.com
website for details. Over the lunch and supper breaks we will explore some
of downtown
Pittsburgh
together. In the evening there will be some great singing and the featured
speaker is Charles Colson, former White House counsel, founder of Prison
Fellowship, and winner of the Templeton Prize in Religion for his work for
justice and prison reform. (Also, there are special programs available for
African and African-American students, and for Latino students.) See the www.jubileeconference.com
website for details on everything.
NOTE: Registration for the full Jubilee Conference is usually done at the
website on-line, but our group will instead formally register on Saturday
morning when we arrive, since we will only attend the Saturday portion of
the Conference. Just download the registration below, complete it, and
turn it in to be registered to be part of our IMPS group.
I
really encourage you to attend. Hope you can! (To get a scholarship,
please register by Monday, Feb. 11, so I can arrange it.)
